Bossington in Exmoor
Bossington is a small and delightful village in the north of Exmoor which is near Porlock directly on the Bristol Channel. Bossington’s lonely beach is beautiful, especially at sunset. The whole village belongs to the National Trust, as it is on their „Holnicote Estate“. Administratively speaking, it is part of nearby Porlock.
Bossington impresses the visitor with its beautiful old stone houses, which can be seen along the only road in the village and are also characterised by their lush floral decorations. There is a tea room with a garden and accommodation at Tudor Cottage which is a lovely B&B.
Nearby and only a few minutes away by car is Selworthy, which is just as good and definitely worth a visit. Bossington itself nestles next to Selworthy Beacon, a 300-metre-high hill that offers fantastic views of Exmoor and the Bristol Channel from above.
